I'm so looking forward to conference!! Two days of soaking in the SPIRIT, as much as my children will allow. I remember when I was a kid, and Conference just seemed to last FOREVER !!! It could never get over fast enough, ( I think the main reason being that my Dad made us sit for all 4 sessions and we couldn't do different quiet activities during and if we started to fall ASLEEP -- well let's not go there!!) Needless to say it was not a fond memory of mine. But as I have grown older and my perspective has changed from that of being a kid, and even as a teenager, I can hardly wait for it to come, and then it's over before I've been "spiritually fed" enough to last me the next 6 months. I LOVE CONFERENCE!!!
I can hardly wait for the talks that seem like they were written just for me, and that maybe come Monday -- I'll feel refreshed and feel like I can conquer it all. Of course, I can only do that one step at a time.
The only thing these days that proves to be difficult are the CHILDREN!! So if we can keep the noise level at bay, and keep that "entertained" than I'm sure I'll get a lot more out of it.
I'm excited for conference, too. And since it's a rainy day......perfect for staying in and watching TV.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about watching it on TV. Where I grew up, we had to go to the stake center to watch it. I loved dressing up and feeling like I was going to church. It's a lot harder for me to pay attention when I watch it at home with the kids running around. I'm always tempted to get up during a talk that's less than captivating for me and go make the bed, or start a load of laundry or something. And entertaining the kids! Always a chore.
But I really am excited!!
